Things to bring to 5 THSDC! ( updated )

This year, we’ve decided to compile a check list of things you need ( or might want ) to bring to the tournament. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment on this post or email thsdc.info@gmail.com!!

1. Yourself ( Obviously )
2. Stationary

  • Writing instruments ( Pen / Pencil / Colored Pen / High-lighter etc. )
  • Paper ( We won’t be providing paper!!! don’t have enough budget for it :( )
  • Stopwatch ( Or something that helps you time. We won’t be allowing cellphones during prep-time!! )

3. Computer ( If you still need to do research. )

  • Charger
  • There’s free wireless internet access on the 1st floor of King David dormitory and in John XXIII Conference Hall.
  • If you’re staying in double or single room, please bring a LAN line to access the internet. There’s no wireless in the room.
  • We’re not sure if there’s printing service this year but don’t get your hopes up. Please try to print everything you might need in advance before coming to our tournament!!

4. Mobile Phone & its charger ( Yes, we know all of you have one. Please bring it and turn it on in case we can’t find you!! )

5. Toiletries

  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Toothbrush & Toothpaste
  • Towel

6. Insect Repellent ( The mosquitoes in our campus is famously fierce and big )

7. Clothing

  • 3 sets of polite casual wear… or uniform if your institution prefer. Polite casual wear = no mini shorts & mini skirt, no ragged clothing. no tank top or singlets (สายเดี่ยว) by itself. No jandles or sandals without straps. Dress with respect to our University’s campus.
  • ( EDIT ) We’re providing free tournament t-shirt. All participants are required to wear it on 7th November!! It looks nice in photos!
  • Formal wear for break-night! It’s gonna be grand! Example of dress code here.
  • ( EDIT ) All participants are required to wear their full uniform on 9th November!!
  • WARM CLOTHING ( I know it’s Thailand, but our air conditioning is FAMOUS for causing hypothermia. )

8. ( Added on 31.10.2010 ) Camera!! There’ll be wayyy too many photo opportunities… I mean, it’s not everyday that you’d get to dress up in formal wear?

Phew, hope that’s everything. Will keep updating this post if we have anything else we want you to bring!
